From 7 to 10 September 2015 the Association for the promotion of Civic Culture and Accountability (APCRC), in partnership with the Institute for the investigation of Communist crimes and the memory of the Romanian exile (1989 ROMANIAN REVOLUTION) and the School Inspectorate of Bucharest (ISMB), organized educational Tour in communist prisons project, addressed to the pupils. Summer school students at top of Fagaras-Saturday, held between 5-12 July 2015 of the Institute for the investigation of Communist crimes and the memory of the Romanian exile (1989 ROMANIAN REVOLUTION), in cooperation with Konrad Adenauer Foundation, cultural foundation "Dumpweed" Făgăraş and Anti-communist Resistance Memorial "land of Făgăraş", created in the Fagaras Fortress Dungeon Tower from a Tree of life-spiritual, linking this with their youth râvnitorilor.  The exhibition includes over 70 graphic illustrating the flags crackdown on population through portraits of members of the anti-communist resistance movement and political prisoners, as well as through the drawings of buildings, prisons or [...]

Students of “Jean Monnet” high school, on a visit to IICCMER

On April 10th, The Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and Memory of the Romanian Exile (IICCMER) was visited by a group of students from “Jean Monnet” high school in Bucharest. On this occasion, the students watched the short film Half Shaved (Tuns, ras şi frezat), directed by Bogdan Mureșanu, and talked to the IICCMER experts.

Members of the European Law Students’ Association on a visit to IICCMER

On April 8th, The Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and Memory of the Romanian Exile received the visit of a group of Romanian and Dutch students, part of the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA), interested in finding out more information about the activity of the Institute and the communist period. The IICCMER experts presented the structure of the Institute, talked about the research and investigation projects they carry out and answered the guests’ questions.

Şcoala Altfel (A different school) Educational Program at IICCMER: Human Rights in the Recent History of Romania

The Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and Memory of the Romanian Exile (IICCMER), in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, is currently undertaking in Bran the program “A Different School: Human Rights in the Recent History of Romania”, addressed to high school students. Until April 10th, 20 students from all across the country are participating in creative workshops, film projections, presentations made the IICCMER experts, visits at the historical landmarks and other sociocultural activities meant to draw their interest towards studying the history of the communist regime in Romania.

The National Contest for High School Students “A Day in Communism: Pages from a <> Diary”

IICCMER, in partnership with the Ministry of National Education and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, organizes the national contest for highschool students “A Day in Communism: Pages from a <<Secret>> Diary” („O zi in comunism: file de jurnal «secret»”). The contest aims to encourage students to use their imagination and creativity to write an essay on the above mentioned topic in the form of an entry from a personal diary.
