Mr. Dinu Zamfirescu, former political prisoner, has been arrested repeatedly by the former Communist secret police. He was detained first in November 1945, during the demonstration in support of his Majesty King Michael.

Mr. Dinu Zamfirescu was a major figure of the Romanian exile, Member of the Board of Directors of the Romanian Institute of recent history (IRIR), author of numerous articles and studies published in the press of the Romanian exile (EAK, Fight, dialogue, Curierul Românesc).

Dinu Zamfirescu served as President of the National Institute for the memory of the Romanian exile (INMER) since its foundation in 2003, until 2010, when amalgamation took place with the Institute for the investigation of Communist crimes (IICCR).
