On 27 February the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and the Memory of the Romanian Exile, the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes, the Post Bellum Foundation, the Czech Radio Station and the International Visegrad Fund organised the Memory of Nations International Workshop.

Discussions focused on the methodological approaches employed on the European portal www.memoryofnations.eu. The project aims to create a database comprising audio and video testimonies of the victims of totalitarian regimes. IICCMER joined the initiative in 2009, bringing in the project “Prison Experiences in Communist Romania”.

Kollinerová Martina (The Czech Radio Station), Lenka Kopřivová (The Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes), Ioana Boca (Civic Academy Foundation), Cosmin Budeancă (IICCMER), Alin Mureşan (IICCMER), Andrei Lascu (IICCMER), and Adelina Ţînţariu (IICCMER) participated in the event.

The workshop was held at IICCMER’s headquarters in Bucharest.
