Through these training and advanced courses, IICCMER aims to contribute to the acknowledgement of the values represented by human rights among teachers, as well as students, and to develop an education model fundamentally different from that of the paternalist education. The starting point is the retrospective-critical view on the status of human rights during the communist regime. The project promotes a type of teaching undertaken from the perspective of the pedagogy of freedom, having as fundamental benchmarks the education for diversity and the gender dimension, education for the respect of minorities of any kind, education for the active defense of human rights.

The course will take place during March 15th-16th, in Buzău, and will be taught by Mihai Stamatescu, author of the course book A history of communism in Romania.

Project undertaken with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
