In the interval 27 June – 4 July 2008, The Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes, in collaboration with The Memorial of Anti-Communist Resistance in Ţara Făgăraşului and The Negru Vodă” Foundation, organized in Făgăraş-Sâmbăta de Sus (Braşov County) the first edition of a summer school  on the subject of communism.

As part of the IICCR’s educational projects, the main purpose of the summer school is to offer students a better knowledge of the Romanian communist period (1944-1989). 

The 15 participants of 2008 are aged between 14 and 18 years old. They have been attending secondary schools in Bucharest, Botoşani, Făgăraş, Iaşi, Drobeta Turnu- Severin, Timişoara, Râmnicu Sărat and Victoria.
