The Executive President of the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and Memory of the Romanian Exile, Mr. Radu Preda, met on Tuesday, April 15th, with the Head of the KAS Offices in Romania and in the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Sven-Joachim Irmer, and with Mr. Emil Constantinescu, Founding President of the Romanian Foundation for Democracy, at the IICCMER headquarters. The discussions focused on the need of establishing a mutual plan, supported by all the Romanian public figures, regarding the necessity of preserving the memory of the totalitarian period, as well as the urgency of creating a Museum of Communism a quarter of a century after the historical failure of the communist regime.
For Mr. Sven-Joachim Irmer, main partner of the Institute, this was the first visit of this kind after the assignment of the new Executive President of IICCMER.
