Transylvania International Film Festival (TIFF)
The Transylvania International Film Festival is one of the most important cinematographic events in the country and the first international festival dedicated to feature films in Romania. The festival takes place each year in Cluj-Napoca and it is organized by the Association for the Promotion of Romanian Film in partnership with local and national institutions.
One World Romania
The One World Romania Festival is one of the most well known documentary film festival in Romanian and the only one dedicated to human rights. The project was started in 2008 on the initiative of the Czech Center and is now independent. Each edition features tens of documentaries on topics like human rights, history of the totalitarian regimes, sustainable development, urban culture, etc.
The Historical Film Festival in Râşnov
The Historical Film Festival in Râșnov (FFIR) began in 2009, with the purpose of getting the Romanian audience acquainted with the international historical film productions, but also that of capitalizing the films and documentaries of Romanian directors. The event takes place each August in Râşnov. Since 2012, the events also hosts a summer school addressed to bachelor and master students interested in history and cinema.
